Production on the 8-wheeled, all-wheel drive Sd.kfz. 232 armoured vehicle began in 1937.Displaying excellent mobility with 3 forward and 3 reverse gears, the Sd.kfz. 232 had a topspeedof 100km/h. Featuring relatively thin protective armor with 14.5mm armor on the front,8mm on the sides and 5mm on top, the 232 had a 20mm KWK-30 main gun and MG-34coaxial machine gun fitted to the rotating turret. A distinctive characteristic of the Sd.kfz. 232was the large FuG-11 radio antenna mounted over the body featuring a 50km coverage range.With commander and gunner in the turret and one driver in the front seat and one in the rear,the 232 could accommodate up to 4 personnel.
