A Reliable Battle HoundDuring WWII in 1941, based on the US Army Ordnance request for a new armored reconnaissance vehicle, General Motors Chevrolet answered the call with its 4×4 armored car the Staghound Mk.I. The Staghound was armed with a 37mm gun placed on its turret having 32mm thick armor, and as an armored car it possessed a great defensive ability. In addition, it was powered by two 97hp water-cooled gasoline engines producing a top speed of 88.5km/h. Later the American Army began using the M8 Greyhound with British and Commonwealth forces continued to use the Staghound. The Staghound first saw action at the Italian front in 1943, and was used in various countries in patrolling and reconnaissance duties to the end of the war.About the ModelThis is a 1/35 plastic assembly model of the American made armored car Staghound Mk.I which was used by British and Commonwealth forces during WWII. ¡ïLength: 159mm. The Staghound's large size, body dynamics, round lines, and cast iron turret have all been realistically captured with this model. ¡ïIt is possible to open and close the gun turret and the hulls hatch. The gun turret and main gun loading section are accurately reproduced. ¡ïParts such like suspension and drive shaft have a high detailed finish. ¡ïPhoto-etched parts are prepared for the Staghounds light guard, gun mount, and spare fuel tank securing belt adding to the already high detail. ¡ïThree figurine set includes the commander, loader, and a standing crew member. ¡ïFive kinds of decals for British and free Polish military forces included. ¡ïA 48-page A5 size photographic reference manual is included.
